Principal's Message

Welcome to Wickford Middle School for the 2017-18 school year! The WMS staff is looking forward to working with students and families this year, to continue the tradition of excellence, that’s been present at Wickford for so long. Our goal is to encourage and help develop the academic, social, and emotional growth in all of our students as they pass through Wickford on their way to high school and beyond. We strive, to work together, to provide the best possible education for all of our students while pushing them to set and reach new goals. Through hard work and collaboration, we aim to reach all of these goals throughout the year. We encourage you to be an active member of the Wickford Middle School community. Teamwork makes the dream work. Go Wildcats!

Step Documentary Screening at NKHS

The award-winning documentary, STEP, which tells the story of an all-girls high-school step dancing team in the heart of Baltimore is coming to NKHS. Empowered by their teachers, teammates, counselors, coaches, and families, they chase their ultimate dreams: to win a step dancing championship and to be accepted into college. You can watch the trailer here! STEP has already inspired audiences in theaters all around the country, NKHS was invited to request a copy (which we did!) and now we can share it with our students, faculty and community. It’s the perfect story to spark conversations around self-confidence, teamwork and overcoming challenges in the most difficult circumstances. Next Wednesday, December 13, 6:30 PM in the North Kingstown High School Auditorium there will be a showing of the documentary that is free to the public; donations of canned goods to the NK Food Pantry will be appreciated. This opportunity is open to all of our students and their families in the North Kingstown/Jamestown school district grades 6-12. After the movie there will be an opportunity for a discussion, we hope to see you there.
